How much does each session cost?

Please contact me to learn more about my hourly rates. In some instances, sliding scale options are available. I accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance at this time. However, I can provide you with a receipt (called a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for partial or full reimbursement, if your insurance accepts you working with “out of network” therapists. Please check with your provider regarding any benefits for outpatient mental health services prior to making an appointment.

Where will we meet?

I currently offer in-person therapy with Covid mindful practices in Decatur, and telehealth therapy services for Georgia residents via secure video-conferencing.

How often will we meet and for how long will I need to be in therapy?

Psychotherapy sessions are fifty minutes long and are typically scheduled for once a week. Depending upon your specific needs and circumstances, it might make more sense to meet every other week, once a month, or perhaps multiple times a week. Some people begin therapy with a specific problem or concern, while others come to therapy for treatment of issues that seem to run deeper. For this reason, treatment may continue for anywhere between a few months to a few years.

What can I expect during the first session?

Overall, you can think of the first session as two-way interview where we can ask each other questions so we can begin to know each other. I’ll invite you to share more about yourself and we can also talk about what’s worked or not worked for your mental health in the past.

Some questions that I like to ask during a first session include:

  • What brought you to therapy?

  • What’s present for you in your life right now?

  • What do I need to know about you to understand your current challenges?

You can ask me questions as well. You might be curious about about my experience or how future sessions work. The most important part of a first session is for you to determine if I feel like a good fit for you. If you feel safe, accepted, and comfortable with me, we can discuss if you’d like to meet again.
